My Bookshelf

I like books. Fiction books.

Here are some of my favourites:

Douglas Adams -Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency and of course also the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy – read, watched and listened (but fell asleep)

Agatha Christie – “Intellectual” Light Summer Reading. What else? Favourite character: Harley Quinn.

Terry Pratchett – I was quite a late fan of TP but I’ve been catching up whenever one of his books cross my path.

Douglas Coupland – JPod

Neil Gaiman – American Gods

Haruki Murakami – Kafka On The Shore

Gabriel Garcia Marquez – 100 years of solitude & short stories

Kazuo Ishiguro – Never Let Me Go (Don’t bother watching the movie)

Rohinton Mistry - A Fine Balance. Heartbreaking

Salman Rushdie – Fury

Will Self – The Book of Dave

Alexandre Dumas - The Count of Monte Cristo

Hanif Kureishi – The Buddha of Surburbia

Phillip K. Dick – Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?

Mervyn Peake – Gormenghast Trilogy
*Update – 08/06/11 Just ordered the The Illustrated Gormenghast Trilogy. Quite looking forward to this after leaving all three books half way round the world.

Ray Bradbury - Fahrenheit 451

Roald Dahl (of course!) – all. Especially the dark short stories. Things like My Uncle Oswald

… more coming. Wait.
